 frenoplasty [fre´no-plas″te]

 the correction of an abnormally attached frenum or frenulum, by surgically repositioning it.

 

Ya, that is what our little Kinzlee had done on February 4. Britt had to have this done as well when he was a babe!  They say that it is hereditary...ummm they get it from me :(  We had to go to Tucson to have it done.  It really isn't anything major.  She did have to be knocked out, but only for about 10 minutes.  They basically clip the skin that is under your tongue so that in Kinz's case she could stick her tongue out of her mouth.  She could only get it right to the tip of her 2 front teeth.  They say that if it isn't done, it can cause speech impediments and have problems eating, sucking and a list of other things. (sidenote: before kinz couldn't suck a straw and was always choking on things, afterwards she can suck a straw and no longer chokes as much!!)

She really was a trooper.  When the anesthesiologist, came to get her she didn't even cry.  She just went with him like no big deal!  My heart was breaking just a little!! 

I didn't get any after pictures because she was soo clingy and out of it, I couldn't hand her to Braden and I honestly spaced it. 



After her surgery the ride home was a little interesting!!

Do ya remember those FREEZING nights back in February??  Well the night before her surgery it just happened to get down to 9 degrees in Tucson.

Well for some reason our ANTIFREEZE froze in our car.

So, the ride home for about 25 minutes, until the car un-thawed we had no heat!!

To say the least it was FREEZING!  I had Kinz covered smothered in blankets to keep her warm.

Once the heater finally kicked in it was smooth sailing until we got home!!
